Telstra Targets Small Business Market For Digital Products Like Smartphones

Telstra commissioned the IDC research as it prepares to launch its next generation of digital business products for small business. According to Tesltra managing director Deena Shiff a large proportion of the company's customer base currently works from home, and that is a challenge for Telstra to provide them with the same communications capability as big business, and to recognize that mobility is key.

The research has shown that there is still a lot of room for improvement in how small businesses are utilizing technology. According to Shiff, they are not making the most out of the mobility solutions that are available, and often find it difficult to keep up with the latest technology solutions such as smarthphones. A good example is that although 61% of small businesses allow their staff to work remotely, only 21% are equipped with network solutions that allow them to access computer files remotely. This presents security risks to critical data.
